Join Azra, the loyal and fearless warehouse worker at Ackurat, on her inspiring career journey. After moving from Bosnia 25 years ago, she started at Ackurat and has since developed enormously. Azra is active and loves nature walks and spend time with her loved ones. Today she works with incoming and outgoing deliveries, picking and packing, and thrives in her varied work.
The journey to Ackurat
Azra is a goal-oriented person who has always strived to learn more and develop. 25 years ago, she moved from Bosnia to Sweden and eventually sought out Ackurat to enter the workforce. Her husband had already worked at the company for a while and had a positive view of the workplace.
The opportunity arose, and she took the chance to start working and continue developing. It started with a trial week in the production department, which went well. She was there for a few months before starting to work in the warehouse.
Learning swedish on the job
When Azra started at Ackurat, she was still struggling with Swedish, which was a challenge for her. But her colleagues supported her by actively trying to teach her more.
From her own experience, she thinks it was great to enter employment because she learned the language much faster.
They really wanted to help me with the language! And you have to dare, dare to speak. You must not be afraid to make mistakes.
Azra’s role at Ackurat today
Today, Azra works in the warehouse with incoming and outgoing deliveries, picking and packing. She has developed a lot during her time at the company and is now self-sufficient, takes her own initiatives, and comes up with suggestions that can facilitate work. “It’s varied, and I like that,” she says happily.
A safe workplace
Azra describes Ackurat as a safe workplace where you can develop and gain experience from different parts of the company. She says that everyone at Ackurat helps out and that it feels like a second home to her.
The colleagues here are very nice. Everyone helps out. You can develop and gain experience from many different places in the company. It’s a safe workplace, a second home.
She also shares fun memories from the company’s summer parties, where colleagues always have fun from start to finish. “I thought about sharing something funny, but so much has happened that I don’t know where to start,” she says, laughing. Finally, she recalls when her colleague Linda made a dress out of bubble wrap that turned out great! And, she adds, “at the summer parties, it’s always fun, from start to finish!"
