Identity in every detail

Vincent Dejonghe - Mobitec Systems SA, Belgium

The small details are stored
in the creative toolbox of memory

VINCENT DEJONGHE - DESIGNER AND PRODUCT MANAGER | Vincent finds inspiration in the small things in everyday life.

It’s those small fine details on the coat rack in a Japanese restaurant or on the small table in the window of a shoe store… those small things that are seen out of the corner of the eye without really noticing them. These small details are “stored” and become a kind of creative toolbox that memory can indulge in. Similar to a furniture maker who finds the right tool at the right time.

Mobitec System SA sees itself as the most important chair manufacturer in Belgium and employs about 500 people there. Their strength is that they have their own innovative design department that constantly creates new forms and introduces new technology.

Vincent on Plastic Materials

We see more and more visible wood on chairs. We note that the shapes are more elaborate and rounded. This is a way for us European manufacturers to differentiate ourselves from cheap imported products. Traditional plastic is often seen as a rather simple material. Maybe that’s why it is often hidden.

Vincent on Ackurat

The company has a login on Ackurat’s website where, in addition to all standard products, they can also see the company’s prices, Ackurat’s stock levels, Mobitec’s own special products, and order history.

Ackurat offers quite unconventional solutions and niche products that are hard to find elsewhere. Ackurat could be better at telling about their custom products. We at Mobitec have our own identity that needs to be visible in every detail, and this also applies to plastic details.
